The Academy of Vocal Arts accepts singers on a full-tuition scholarship basis only. Most of AVA’s artists have graduated from renowned music schools in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and Central and South America. They have already achieved a high level of musicianship, a knowledge of music theory and history, and have had many years of private voice study with major voice teachers. Singers are urged not to apply unless they feel they have exceptional vocal/theatrical qualifications and have dedicated themselves to a professional career. All applications are reviewed by the executive director. Applicants with insufficient experience are discouraged from applying, and applications and fees are returned.

APPLICATION FEE PAYMENT AND APPLICATION FORM SUBMISSION
Application Fee payment and Application form submission will be completed together online. Please be sure to read all of the information below before clicking on the payment/application online. There is no application form to download, fill out and send it, as in past years.
Application Fee payments must be made by credit card; please submit your payment online online to begin the application process. Once you have clicked on the Application Fee Select button, you will then continue on that page to the Application Form section and fill out required the Audition and Application information. At the end of the Application form, you must click on the SUBMIT button and you will be transferred to the account and payment section. (Please note: that the payment section is also used for our ticketing system. Please skip “Shopping Cart Section” and click on Proceed to Checkout. Please skip Log In to Your Account section and go to Guest Check out to continue the Fee payment process). At the same time, your Application form will be processed. You will receive a confirmation that your fee payment and application form have been submitted and be directed to send the rest of the required Application information, which includes a resume, proof of age and headshot to email@example.com. Your Application Package will be considered complete when the Application fee, Application form, Resume Proof of Age and Headshot have been received by the Dean of Students.
Your application form will be automatically forwarded to Val J. Starr, Dean of Students, through the online system. Ms. Starr will send an email confirming that your application has been received. After the application deadline, you will be sent an Audition Notice that will contain your Live Audition date and time. Electronic Audition applications will be sent an Audition Notice indicating when their recordings will be reviewed by the Faculty.
If you are having a problem with paying the application fee by credit card, please email Val Starr, Dean of Students, for assistance. You will be unable to submit an application form, otherwise.
The Academy of Vocal Arts is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music as a non-degree granting music program that is authorized to bestow students, who successfully complete the program requirements, with an Artist Diploma.
