Fellowships
In addition to tuition-free training, The Academy of Vocal Arts currently offers a number of merit-based fellowships. These fellowships all in the amount of $5,000 are awarded annually to a current resident artist to offset the cost of living expenses while attending The Academy.
The resident artist must meet the following criteria in order to be awarded a fellowship:
- The young artist must show potential for a major international career in opera
- The young artist must possess an extraordinary dedication to their profession
- The young artist must be in good standing at The Academy of Vocal Arts, meeting the highest standards of academic achievement and professional conduct at AVA
- Recommendations by the faculty and vocal coaches
